What's a philosopher of religion to do?

Ronald L. Hall

pp. 147-156

Abstract

I want to begin with a question: What is the proper task for philosophers of religion? One very good candidate for an answer here is this: philosophers of religion are trying to understand belief in God. This answer is so good in fact that I see no reason not to accept it — provided that "understand" is properly understood.
