Organisational semiotics
informatics without the computer?
pp. 115-171
Abstract
Back in 1976 I wrote a paper entitled "Informatics without the Computer" as a result of working in the developing world (Stamper 1976). At the time, I mistakenly thought that my message was less important for the highly developed economies. But now we are all suffering from a surfeit of the technology without high quality information. Without good wine, what's the point of all the bottles with pretty labels?
