Place and the void according to John Philopon

Pierre Duhem

pp. 39-40

Abstract

Place is space with its three dimensions.1 Space must be entirely separate in thought from the bodies which occupy it. It must be considered as an incorporeal volume, extended in length, width and depth, so that place is identical with the void.
