Political scientists as advisors to politicians

Klaus von Beyme

pp. 131-144

Abstract

In the entrance hall of the Humboldt University in Berlin you can still find a huge inscription on red marble taken from Karl Marx's Theses on Feuerbach, number 11: "Philosophers have interpreted the world in different ways—it is necessary, however, to change the world". This meant that social scientists and philosophers should certainly play a certain role in changing the world.
