Whose style is it?

George Stiny

pp. 21-43

Abstract

Artworks are in that style if they answer to certain rules. This isn't as crude as it seems. Rules can be pretty creative. There's recursion, of course, but far more with embedding. Embedding lets me calculate without a vocabulary or units. What I see and do, and the units this implies depend on the rules I try.
