Abstract

According to the now-standard view developed by the likes of Cantor, Frege, and Russell, all of mathematics is based on set theory. Numbers, functions, vectors, and all the other objects studied in other branches of mathematics are constructed out of sets. This makes the concept of a set very important! We should make sure that we understand this concept very clearly.
