CTC (Complexity theories of cities) convey two messages to urban planning: One quantitative in the form of a conjunction between complexity derived urban simulation models and sophisticated information technologies, and one qualitative in the form of a new language and perspective on the nature of cities and their planning. Most studies in the domain of CTC have so far elaborated the quantitative contribution to planning; based on several past studies, the present paper explores the qualitative implications of complexity theory and CTC to urban planning.
