Truth in action

Richard J. Campbell

pp. 62-99

Abstract

The observations in §3.6 suggest that an adequate conception of truth will ground it in the domain of actions. Since the concept of action is intrinsically normative, that might enable us to explain how truth comes to have its normative character. But for this program to succeed, we will first have to show how the domain of actions can bear the explanatory weight that our leading idea places upon it.
