Abstract
Does Hume present in The Natural History of Religion a unitary and coherent conception of history? Under the supposition that such is the case, is it the same or at least consistent with the vision of history that can be extracted from the History of England and some of his principal historical essays? These are the questions I shall attempt to answer in what follows. Let us begin with the Natural History.
