A material theory of reference

James K. Feibleman

pp. 53-76

Abstract

It is the thesis of this study that a material theory of reference can be constructed which will accommodate universal, or formal, as well as particular, or existential, propositions, on the ground that they are equally material. The construction of such a material theory of propositions leads to an examination of the meaning of truth in terms of reference.
